Case study title
In December of 2019, a mid-sized, employee-owned, environmental services firm who had been growing fast set out to increase the capabilities of it’s overall leadership. For the first time in its history, the executive team decided to dedicate budget to comprehensively develop leaders across the organization. With many options - but nothing that fit them quite right - they chose to partner with Long Run Leadership Consulting to develop a customized program.
We held a 2-day kickoff session with the client team to clarify the focus and identify priorities for the program. In the planning meeting, we were able to dissect their leadership data and align on areas of strength and opportunity. We clarified a focus for the program by identifying what types of leaders would be included, high level objectives, design features, and even identified specific content areas to be included in the program.
We moved quickly to meet the client’s needs. We designed the content, facilitated the selection of participants and launched the program with a virtual orientation attended by participants from across the country.
Participants development began with the completion of a powerful suite of leadership assessments, completing the start of their ‘leadership biography,’ and one-on-one debrief of their assessments and action planning with the program facilitator and leadership coach.
The participants were mixed into 3 cohorts, each with approximately 27 people. Each cohort met three times for a total of eight days where they explored a variety of key leadership topics that were customized to their organization, learned from the program facilitator, and each other. The program culminated with participants sharing their “Leadership Promise Statement” - an articulation of their commitment to leverage their strengths as leaders to their cohort.
Feedback from the participants and leadership across the organization was extremely well received.
Client Profile: Mid-Sized, Environmental Engineering Services firm, 1,700 employees.
Participants: 82 key leaders from across the organization.
Program Features: Three Cohorts of approximately 27 participants mixed from across a variety of functions/departments.
